European Conference on Household Finance

EIEF hosted the “European Conference on Household Finance” jointly organized by the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), the Center on Sustainable Architecture for Finance (SAFE) at Goethe University Frankfurt, the Einaudi Institute for Economics and Finance (EIEF) and the Swedish House of Finance (SHoF), with additional support from the Sloan Foundation. The conference aimed to present state-of-the-art empirical research and empirically motivated theoretical research on household financial behavior and on how this is influenced by other choices, government policies, and the overall economic environment. Workshop on “How to Improve Credit Access for SME through a Proposal of  ‘Credit Enhancement’

EIEF hosted the workshop “How to Improve Credit Access for SME through a proposal of ‘credit enhancement’”, organized by Action Institute and the forum Idee per la Crescita. The workshop presented a proposal that aimed to guarantee loans for the SME, by taking advantage of the European structural funds, therefore facilitating the refinancing of banks at the ECB and thus the supply of credit. EIEF hosted the workshop “Problems and Solutions for the Evaluation of Performance in the Public Administration”, organized by Andrea Ichino (University of Bologna), Giorgio Brunello (University of Padua) and Maria De Paola (University of Calabria). The workshop presented the results of the PRIN 2009 Project, funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research within the Universities of Bologna, Padua and Calabria. MOOD 2013

13th Doctoral Workshop in Economic Theory and Econometrics
July 1-3, 2013

This annual workshop, which started in 2001 as the Villa Mondragone Workshop in Economic Theory and Econometrics, was designed to stimulate interaction between senior economists and doctoral students working on both theoretical and empirical economic issues. It was expected that the students were in the advanced stage of their dissertation research. The workshop was co-sponsored by three Italian research institutions - Bank of Italy, Collegio Carlo Alberto and EIEF- besides, additional financial support was provided by LABOUR: Review of Labour Economics and Industrial Relations and the Royal Economic Society.  Fourth Carlo Giannini Ph.D. Workshop in Econometrics

Organized by the Associazione Carlo Giannini (ACG) and hosted by EIEF, the meeting aimed to bring together young researchers in applied and theoretical econometrics and introduce them to the Italian econometric profession. The selected researchers presented a paper in the meeting followed by a discussion. The discussants were chosen by the Associazione Carlo Giannini board among leading econometric scholars in order to provide effective and useful feedbacks to the presenters. 2nd Rome Junior Conference on Macroeconomics
(aka Pizzanomics)

EIEF hosted the “2nd Rome Junior Conference on Macroeconomics”, a.k.a. Pizzanomics. The aim was to bring together junior economists from around the world with a strong interest in Macroeconomists, and to generate a friendly environment with intensive interaction, not only during the presentations but also informally before and after.
The conference was organized by Guillermo Ordoñez (University of Pennsylvania), Facundo Piguillem (EIEF), and Nicholas Trachter (EIEF). It consisted in 10 presentations of 60 minutes each. The list of presenters included: Javier Bianchi (Wisconsin-Madison), Saki Bigio (Columbia), Jarda Borovicka (NYU), Vasco Carvalho (UPF-CREI), Pablo Fajgelbaum (UCLA), Jean Paul L’Huillier (EIEF), Ezra Oberfield (FRB-Chicago), Luigi Paciello (EIEF), Ali Shourideh (Wharton), Venky Venkyaaran (NYU-Stern).
